Reservations now open for hiking, biking, and sculpture van tours
April 9, 2025
Registration is now open for hiking, biking, and sculpture van tours of Tippet Rise during the 2025 season!
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from June 20 through October 5, guests can explore the art center by more than fifteen miles of trails that traverse the landscape. From the Gnomon trail, with options to hike or bike one, three, or five miles, to the moderate to difficult Meridian, Azimuth, Andesite, and Ecliptic Loop trails, which offer the possibility to gain as much as 2,000 vertical feet, there are a variety of options to choose from. The central Cottonwood Campus Loop also features over two miles of gentle walking and biking trails, where visitors can experience several outdoor works Alexander Calder, Patrick Dougherty, Francis Kéré, Louise Nevelson, Wendy Red Star, and Ai Weiwei.
Hiking and biking reservations, which are free to everyone, can be made on the website here, where our hiking and biking map also includes artwork markers and more detailed trail descriptions.
As advance reservations may fill up this spring, please note that beginning at the time of our opening in June, new hiking and biking reservations are added to the website on a weekly basis.
Important Information About Hiking and Biking at Tippet Rise
• All cyclists must wear a helmet.
• Tippet Rise does not rent bicycles.
• If you are cycling, we recommend bringing a mountain bike, e-bike, or any bicycle suitable for rough, single-track trail.
• Daily hiking and biking reservations are limited. Please make your reservations only for the dates that you plan to visit the art center and only for the exact number of people in your party. If your plans change and you cannot make it to Tippet Rise, please contact us at info@tippetrise.org as early as possible so we can open those spots to other guests.

• Dogs are not allowed at Tippet Rise—out of respect for the livestock that graze here and the wildlife for which the art center is vital habitat.
• Drones are not allowed at Tippet Rise.
• Transportation by private vehicle around the art center is not permitted.
Sculpture Van Tours
Sculpture van tours, offered on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from June 20 through August 10, are another wonderful way to experience the art center. Lasting approximately 2.5 hours, van tours stop at many of the sculptures sited across the 12,500-acre ranch. Guests are welcome to get out and walk up to the artworks at each stop, where our tour guides and rangers provide additional information and insights.
Sculpture van tours are $10 per person, free to anyone 21 and under, and reservations can be made here.
If you have any questions about accessibility or mobility assistance, please email info@tippetrise.org.
Dining at Tippet Rise
Guests are always welcome to bring their own provisions to enjoy while visiting Tippet Rise. During the concert season, lunch and dinner on Fridays, and lunch on Saturdays and Sundays, will be available for purchase by PREROGATIvE Kitchen, a two-time semi-finalist for the James Beard Awards.
