How to Visit Tippet Rise this Season

May 14, 2026

The 2026 concert season ticket drawing is now complete! Should any tickets become available through cancellations, they will be added for sale to the Events page during the week of the concert on a first come, first served basis.

There are still several ways to experience Tippet Rise in-person between June 19 through October 4. Additional hiking and biking reservations are added the website on a weekly basis beginning at the time of art center’s opening. For those who book hiking, biking, or a van tour during the concert season (August 14 through September 13), pop-up concerts occasionally take place and are free-of-charge to all registered guests of the art center.

Tippet Rise offers more than 15 miles of hiking trails with the possibility to gain as much as 2,000 vertical feet. Hiking and biking reservations are also encouraged for those who wish to experience the beauty of the art center without the distance or elevation. There are several miles of gentler walking and biking trails that lead to exciting artworks and spaces by Alexander Calder, Patrick Dougherty, Francis Kéré, Louise Nevelson, Wendy Red Star, Mark di Suvero, Ai Weiwei, and more. Guests can also enjoy lunch in the open-air Will’s Shed, with the option to purchase a variety of sandwiches, salads, and snacks prepared by chef Chris Lockhart, or guests are welcome to bring and share a picnic and take in the beautiful views of the Beartooth Mountains.

Registration also opened today for programs with Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association (YBRA) and Montana InSite Theatre (MIST). On June 25, July 2, 9, and 23, YBRA will lead Geo-Paleo Tours of the art centers, exploring the unique combination of geological wonders that can be found at Tippet Rise. On June 27 and 28, MIST is presenting “Resounding Spring: Words and Notes on the Rise,” inspired by Rachel Carson’s landmark 1962 environmental science book Silent Spring. Eight separate walking tours feature music, poetry, dance, and dramatic scenes at locations throughout the art center’s Cottonwood Campus.

New events are announced thoughout the season in the Tippet Rise e-newsletter, website, and social media channels.
