Concert for kids draws enthusiastic crowd
July 20, 2017
On Sunday, July 16, Tippet Rise presented a free concert for families featuring the Bozeman ensemble, 406 Woodwind Quintet. The event opened with a musical “petting zoo,” allowing children from the audience to explore and play a variety of woodwind instruments, and included short, lively dances by Denes Agay, Louis Andriessen and Maurice Ravel. Throughout the performance, children joined the musicians on stage and danced and pirouetted in the aisles. Members of the quintet are Beth Antonopolous, Sue Makeever, Greg Notess, Susan Wadsworth, and Greg Young, all faculty members at MSU Bozeman’s School of Music. The concert drew more than 100 people from throughout the region and much farther afield. Thank you to the 406 Woodwind Quintet for bringing such joy to our audience of young classical music lovers!
