Description
Praised by the Washington Post for “astounding” and “captivating” performances that draw from its notable “meld of intellect, technique and emotions,” the Aizuri Quartet, whose debut album received a 2019 Grammy nomination, are recipients of the Grand Prize at the 2018 M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition and were awarded top prizes at the 2017 Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan and the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition in London. The program opens with Robert Schumann’s String Quartet No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 41, No. 1, followed by The Aizuri Songbook, a series of works meticulously curated by the Aizuris, all of which are near and dear to the quartet’s heart and identity.
