Designed by Arup, the Geode consists of four triangular structures – one for performers and three for audience members – that both protect from the elements and create the enveloping sonic environment of an indoor hall in the great outdoors.
This program includes Telemann’s Baroque work inspired by the period’s most famous satire – "Gulliver’s Travels", a solo cello work by contemporary composer Dobrinka Tabakova and a string trio by 20th century Hungarian composer Ernő Dohnányi, who was described by the Miami Herald in 1958 as the “last surviving representative of the romantic age of Brahms, Schumann, and Wagner.”
Attendees of this concert will be transported to the Geode via shuttle van.
