The 2024 concert season at Tippet Rise kicks off with a debut recital by esteemed pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet. Of his playing, the Financial Times, wrote “He makes you listen to music as if you are discovering it Eureka!-style: yes, that’s what the composer must have meant.” Bavouzet will perform an all-Ravel program including two sets of waltzes – one intimate and the other virtuosic and brilliant, and Miroirs – a work of five movements, each dedicated to members of the group of innovative young French artists, poets, critics, and musicians to which Ravel belonged at the turn of the 20th century.
