Gryphon Trio

Description

Canada’s Gryphon Trio, winner of three Juno Awards for Classical Album of the Year, returns to Tippet Rise in a program featuring Haydn’s Piano Trio in A Major, Hob. XV:18 and Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major, referred to as the “Archduke” for the Archduke Rudolph of Austria, and known to be one of the final works Beethoven performed. Formed in 1993, the Gryphon Trio has established itself as one of the world’s preeminent piano trios. BBC Magazine hailed them as “exquisite…the ensemble and tonal control can be almost breathtaking.”
