Description
We are delighted to welcome pianist and Canadian virtuoso Marc-André Hamelin, one of the most respected and sought-after performers of the world’s concert stages, for his much-anticipated Tippet Rise debut performance. The recipient of seven Juno Awards and 11 Grammy nominations, the New York Times described Hamelin as “a performer of near-superhuman technical prowess.” His recital features Beethoven’s monumental Sonata No. 29 in B-flat Major and Sonata in A-flat Major by C.P.E. Bach, the second surviving son of Johann Sebastian Bach. The latter work is also included in Hamelin’s new and praised album C.P.E Bach: Sonatas & Rondos.
