Tesla Quartet

Saturday, August 15, 2020

Sculpture Site: The Domo, 11:00 AM

Description

For its Tippet Rise debut, the Tesla Quartet will perform beneath the Domo, playing selections from Dvoṙák’s Cypresses, B. 15 and Janáček’s String Quartet No. 2, “Intimate Letters.” Formed at the Julliard School in 2008, the Tesla Quartet quickly established itself as one of the most promising young ensembles in New York. Today, the ensemble performs regularly across North America and Europe, with recent stops including New York’s Lincoln Center, London’s Wigmore Hall, and Stanford University’s Bing Concert Hall, the latter as winners of the prestigious John Lad Prize. In 2018, the quartet released its debut album of Haydn, Ravel, and Stravinsky quartets on the Orchid Classics label, to critical acclaim. We’re happy to welcome the Tesla Quartet to Tippet Rise!
