Description
We are delighted to welcome the members of Canada’s Gryphon Trio—Annalee Patipatanakoon, violin, Roman Borys, cello, and James Parker, piano—for their debut performance at Tippet Rise and our first concert of the season. During Friday’s performance, the ensemble will showcase a program of early chamber music as well as contemporary works: by Beethoven, Brahms, and the award-winning Canadian composer, conductor, and pianist, Dinuk Wijeratne. Formed in 1993, the Gryphon has established itself as one of the world's preeminent piano trios. They are “Exquisite… the ensemble and tonal control can be almost breathtaking” (BBC Magazine). The Trio performs regularly throughout North America and Europe and has released 18 albums and garnered two Juno Awards for Classical Album of the Year.
