Artist Stephen Talasnik will offer a van tour to his large-scale project designed for Tippet Rise, Satellite #5: Pioneer (2016).
The artist will explore his process and his sculpture, Satellite #5: Pioneer, as it relates to Tippet Rise.
Guests will also be taken to an additional site where the artist will discuss the land and sense of scale.
A tour of a sculpture installation in the Olivier Music Barn titled Unearthed is included with this visit. The artist will discuss his new work called Hive, a site-specific, organic, habitable, architectural sculpture hand-woven in-situ. Unearthed also includes a collection of models for Satellite #5: Pioneer (2016), as well as models from his original Satellite Series. Talasnik will discuss these works as well as Archeology (2012) and Galaxy (2014), two of the artist’s sculptures that have been installed on either side of the stage in the Olivier Music Barn since 2017.
