Pianist Pedja Muzijevic has defined his career with creative programming, unusual combinations of new and old music, and lasting collaborations with artists and ensembles. Pedja’s symphonic engagements include performances with the Atlanta Symphony, Dresden Philharmonic, Milwaukee Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, Orquesta Sinfonica in Montevideo, Residentie Orkest in The Hague, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Santa Fe Pro Musica, Shinsei Nihon Orchestra in Tokyo, and Zagreb Philharmonic. He has played solo recitals at Alice Tully Hall in New York, Mostly Mozart Festival Little Night Music series, 92Y and The Frick Collection in New York, Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo, MI, Terrace Theater at Kennedy Center, Dumbarton Oaks, Phillips Collection and National Gallery in Washington, DC, Casals Hall and Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, Da Camera of Houston, for Arizona Friends of Chamber Music in Tucson, Lane Series at University of Vermont, Spoleto USA, Verbier, Bay Chamber Concerts, Aldeburgh Festival in Great Britain, and many others. His Carnegie Hall concerto debut playing Mozart Concerto K. 503 with Oberlin Symphony and Robert Spano was recorded live and has been released on the Oberlin Music label.

Pedja’s festival appearances include Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival in New York, Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, Tippet Rise Arts Center, Holland, Melbourne, Lucerne festivals, Bravo! Vail, and many others.

Pedja is the artistic administrator at Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York, artistic advisor to Tippet Rise Arts Center in Montana. He is on the faculty of Citizen Artist Project at the Verbier Festival Academy and he also directs a residency at the Banff Centre in Canada called Concert in 21st Century. In all these roles he looks at the concert experience, both in programming and presentation and questions what can we do to make it more relevant today. He lives in New York City and, in his free time, he enjoys cooking for friends and seeing performances in all disciplines.

Longtime and close collaborators of Cathy and Peter Halstead, co-directors Lindsey and Pete Hinmon have managed the development of Tippet Rise since its founding, and jointly lead the art center’s team of colleagues. Lindsey oversees programming at the art center year-round, including the summer concert season and special events, education and community outreach, artwork acquisitions, and artist residencies. She leads engagement with external organizations and collaborators of Tippet Rise, including its sister organization, the Adrian Brinkerhoff Poetry Foundation, and oversees all external communications about the art center. An avid outdoor enthusiast, and passionate about art, music, poetry, nature, and the history of the region, Lindsey enjoys living in Montana with Pete and their daughter.

Longtime and close collaborators of Cathy and Peter Halstead, co-directors Pete and Lindsey Hinmon have managed the development of Tippet Rise since its founding, and jointly lead the art center’s team of colleagues. Pete oversees the art center’s operations, stewardship of the land, capital projects, and the installation of new artworks. Throughout the year, he enjoys sharing his comprehensive knowledge of the land, trail system, and artworks with visitors, colleagues, and collaborators. A lover of adventure in the mountains, and passionate about art, music, poetry, and the history of the region, Pete enjoys living in Montana with Lindsey and their daughter.

Ben oversees ranching operations at Tippet Rise. From May to mid-November, this work includes grazing oversight of 630 yearling cattle of mostly heifers, 145 cows, and 1,000 head of sheep. He works year-round to improve Tippet Rise’s rangeland health as well as its water use and conservation practices. Through these efforts, Ben endeavors to make Tippet Rise an increasingly heathy and viable ranchland, wildlife habitat, and treasured piece of the Montana landscape. In the process, he hopes the art center’s guests can enjoy and experience Montana’s rich ranching heritage. For more than fifteen years, Ben has lived with his family on or next to what is now Tippet Rise.

From the moment a guest first learns of Tippet Rise to the time they exit the art center’s gates, Melissa helps facilitate their experience from beginning to end. With a background in theater and hospitality, she oversees communication and administration at the art center. From managing the Tippet Rise website and social media accounts to orchestrating event planning and ticketing, her contributions are indispensable to day-to-day operations and to her colleagues at the art center. Melissa lives in Red Lodge with her husband and two young daughters.

With a background in fine art and education, Beth has taught kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as at the college level, running art workshops, teaching classes, and giving tours. She earned a BFA from the University of Wyoming and an MFA from the University of Montana and is a professional artist herself. Beth began working at Tippet Rise as an intern during the inaugural season. Today, she manages the visitor center and oversees our art education programs, which focus on art, music, architecture, and conservation through hands-on workshops for all ages.

Jenny began her journey at Tippet Rise as an interpretive ranger and member of the events crew during the art center’s inaugural season. From setting up concerts at the Domo to taking guests on sculpture tours or helping those who are hiking and biking the art center’s trails, she utilizes her passion to try to create unforgettable guest experiences. When she’s not giving tours, maintaining trails, or riding with cyclists out on the land, Jenny enjoys spending her time hiking and fishing in the Beartooth Mountains. With a degree in Environmental Studies from St. Lawrence University, she loves sharing the connections between art, music, and the beautiful Montana environment with the art center’s visitors.

Drawn to Montana’s inspiring and magnetic landscape, Rhema Mangus supports the artistic team in planning and producing performances, films, and other arts programs both for live audiences and online. Her life-long love of all things music and arts led her to Tippet Rise where she is fortunate to host artists during the concert season, recording projects, and residences. Rhema studied horn performance and arts management at Southern Methodist University and began her career at Storm King Art Center.

Whitney Hegeman writes and edits content for the art center’s website, e-newsletters, and publications. She also assists with our public relations efforts and will tell anyone who will listen to add a visit to Tippet Rise to their “bucket list.” Whitney is based in Colorado Springs where she lives with her family. Having had the opportunity to work with Tippet Rise since its founding, she appreciates the opportunity to make repeat visits to the art center, each time feeling more inspired by the synergies between music, art, architecture, and the beautiful Montana landscape.

Brian Langeliers assists with all projects and activities related to sharing Tippet Rise with the world through its website, ticketing software, e-newsletters, and social media channels. A native of Montana, Brian earned his degree in Fine Arts from the University of Montana, Missoula, and works as a visual artist creating aerial landscape paintings. He spent fourteen years in Boulder, Colorado building a career in music management, specializing in branding and design primarily within the folk, Americana, and bluegrass genres of string music. His passion for the arts was inspired at a young age by a family friend, the great pianist George Winston, who would send advance copies of his records and cassettes to their home.

Monte maintains the Olivier Music Barn’s state-of-the-art audio-video systems and supervises all audio recordings of performances at Tippet Rise, which he masters in ultra-high-fidelity formats and in 9.1 surround-sound. With a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production from Webster University in St Louis, his background also includes recording the St. Louis Symphony’s performances for several years. But Monte not only records performances, he also performs: on the trumpet, which he has played since childhood.

Jim assists in all phases of audio production process at the art center and helps manage the cutting edge technology systems behind the scenes. His mission is to support the Tippet Rise vision by capturing the powerful musical moments with an exceptional level of faithfulness, spatial realism, and clarity. With more than 25 years in the music industry as an engineer, producer, performer, and technical systems engineer, Jim brings leadership, creativity, and rigor to his work, and balances the highly technical tasks the A/V team faces daily with a sense of playfulness. Jim splits his time between the art center and his home in Colorado, where he’s a busy musician and audio engineer, and also enjoys the outdoors and writing music.

Shannon, along with the Guest Services & Safety Team, provides a consistent, friendly, and safe experience for everyone driving through the gates of Tippet Rise. Her goal is to uphold the security of the Tippet Rise property while ensuring the well-being and enjoyment of guests, visitors, and staff alike. Born and raised locally with a love of all that is Montana, Shannon holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and worked professionally in logistics and emergency management before joining the team at Tippet Rise. She lives nearby in Columbus where she enjoys numerous outdoor ventures like golf, camping, and rafting.

Gene is a member of the Guest Services and Safety Team and is a well-known face at the front gate. He checks-in Tippet Rise’s many visitors and offers them direction as they start their day. A native of Butte, Montana, Gene has been married to his wife Marlene for 36 years. They are proud of a large family that includes 29 grandkids and 14 great grandkids. Gene had a long and exciting career, including service in the U.S. Marine Corps, before joining the Tippet Rise team for his retirement years. Gene and Marlene live in Absarokee, where they enjoy camping & fishing.

Growing up, many of Ralph’s first memories revolve around two things: his dad instilling in him a deep love for the beauty of nature and his mom similarly passing down a lifelong appreciation for all genres of music. It was no wonder that it was “love at first sight” when Ralph first visited Tippet Rise. Upon retiring from a 30-year ministry career, focused mainly on helping to navigate and encourage teenagers through the ups and downs of adolescence, he found a natural home for his passions working with the art center’s Guest Services Team. When on shift, Ralph is the first friendly face visitors encounter upon arriving at Tippet Rise, where he welcomes guests, answers any initial questions they may have, and points them . where they need to go to start an amazing day.

As part of the Guest Services and Safety Team, Laura helps facilitate an unforgettable experience for each guest at Tippet Rise. She works enthusiastically to provide a safe and welcoming environment and encourages everyone to authentically experience Tippet Rise in all its facets. It brings her great joy listening to guests’ feedback and seeing their joy and happiness from visiting. Laura enjoys all that the Montana region has to offer with her family.

As the Maintenance and Facilities Manager, Dan maintains the buildings, mechanical systems, vehicles, and equipment at Tippet Rise, ensuring that visitors, staff, and even our pianos feel comfortable. Always willing to help with whatever is needed, he is not only indispensable to the art center’s operations, he is a friendly face to guests, artists, and staff alike. A lifelong Montanan, Dan loves the outdoors, especially the mountains and the rivers and streams, which he explores by raft as often as possible. He and his wife Yvonne live near Absarokee, Montana. They have three children and four wonderful grandchildren. Dan is proud to be on the Tippet Rise staff, believing it to be “one of the greatest places there is.”

As Facilities Operator, Bryon is responsible for HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems at Tippet Rise, which are driven by the art center’s commitment to sustainability, and incorporates everything from geo-thermal, solar energy, and graywater systems to the humidity levels needed for pianos used during the concert season and recording sessions. Having grown up in nearby Absarokee, Bryon was Active Duty in the Air Force as an F-16 maintainer, served in the Air National Guard, and worked as a contractor converting F-16’s into drones – all before returning to Montana to train in HVAC systems. He is happy to be back home, where he lives with his wife and three children, and enjoys roaming the mountains, rock climbing, floating the river, and sharing in the many joys of his own upbringing.

Drew was instantly drawn to Montana’s beautiful landscape and wide-open space, so he truly enjoys working in maintenance and taking care of the awe-inspiring sculpture on the grounds at Tippet Rise Art Center each week. Before joining the staff here, Drew earned degrees in music performance from the University of Oklahoma and Southern Methodist University and then spent ten years as a military musician at West Point NY. Besides being a musician, Drew spends as much time outside in the mountains as he can with his wife, Rhema, and two dogs. Tippet Rise’s combination of music, sculpture, and landscape make it a profoundly unique place that he loves dedicating his time and energy to so that others can also have an incredible experience when they visit.

As the Fire Systems Manager, Ben is responsible for maintaining the existing fire systems as well as developing new fire mitigation infrastructure at the art center. An outdoor enthusiast with a background in wildland fire management and emergency medical services, Ben is committed helping provide a safe and memorable guest experience in this pristine corner of the Montana landscape. As part of his responsibilities Ben also works with the Ranch Manager to promote responsible land management practices and improve rangeland health.
